Doctoral studies – II stage of postgraduate education, aimed at training specialists with skills to organize research work in a new area of scientific research or in the development of existing current areas of scientific research, analytical generalization of the results of scientific activity, allowing to prepare a qualifying scientific work (dissertation) for the degree of doctor of sciences. Educational programs of doctoral studies are implemented in the full-time form of education (not more than 3 years) or in the form of doctoral studies (not more than 5 years).
Full-time education at the expense of budgetary funds is conducted on the basis of the state order, at the request of organizations that need personnel of higher qualification. Doctoral students studying full-time on a budgetary basis are paid a stipend.
Persons with a degree of Candidate of Science who have scientific works (articles, monographs, inventions, patents and other materials confirming the contribution to science), which together form the basis for a doctoral dissertation with the possibility of its completion within the established period of time, are admitted to the doctoral program. Doctoral students (applicants) who have successfully completed doctoral studies are those who have received a positive conclusion of the State Attestation Commission based on the results of the final attestation.
